L’\u0153uvre s’inspire librement de dessins d’enfants de chacune des cr\u00e9atures pour mieux les \u00e9voquer, voir m\u00eame les transcender.<\/p>\n

I – L’envol\u00e9 de la sorci\u00e8re
\n\u00c0 cheval sur son balai, la sorci\u00e8re et son chat noir survolent la campagne \u00e0 la recherche d\u2019une nouvelle victime \u00e0 faire bouillir dans sa marmite. L\u2019\u0153uvre s\u2019ouvre avec des sons de flexatone<\/em> qui \u00e9voquent le rire strident de la sorci\u00e8re. Ensuite, les violons jouent une m\u00e9lodie espi\u00e8gle dans l\u2019aig\u00fce pendant que les cuivres jouent une m\u00e9lodie sombre dans le grave, repr\u00e9sentant ainsi les deux facettes de la sorci\u00e8re.<\/p>\n

II – La marche des zombies
\nOn entend des sons mena\u00e7ants dans le lointain. Ce sont les zombies! Ils s\u2019approchent peu \u00e0 peu et mordent tout ceux sur leur passage. Leur marche devient de plus en plus imposante \u00e0 mesure que leurs victimes joignent leur rang. De la m\u00eame fa\u00e7on, les instruments s\u2019ajoutent les uns aux autres afin de produire un grand crescendo<\/em> d\u2019intensit\u00e9.<\/p>\n

III – La m\u00e9tamorphose du loup-garou
\nSous l\u2019effet de la pleine lune, un homme se transforme en loup-garou. Sa bouche se change en gueule, ses oreilles s\u2019allongent, ses bras et ses jambes deviennent des pattes et une \u00e9paisse fourrure recouvre son corps. C\u2019est ainsi qu\u2019une musique de suspense se transforme progressivement en musique agit\u00e9e et mena\u00e7ante, comme un loup \u00e0 la recherche d\u2019une proie. Tout au long du mouvement, les cuivres jouent des glissandos<\/em> tel un loup qui aboie \u00e0 la lune. Rien n’est \u00e0 l’\u00e9preuve de la b\u00eate… sauf un chasseur avec un fusil et une balle d’argent.<\/p>\n

IV – Les fant\u00f4mes du manoir
\nDe myst\u00e9rieux murmures remplissent le vieux manoir abandonn\u00e9. Tous les fant\u00f4mes des anciens habitants s\u2019y ont donn\u00e9 rendez-vous pour un grand bal. Ils dansent la valse au son de l\u2019orchestre.<\/p>\n

V – Les squelettes attaquent!
\nDans le cimeti\u00e8re, les squelettes sortent des tombes. Ils envahissent le village et s\u00e8me la terreur chez les villageois. Une musique rapide et contrast\u00e9e, mettant en vedette un xylophone fr\u00e9n\u00e9tique, \u00e9voque les squelettes dans leur assaut nocturne.<\/p>\n
