Lucia
Lucia is an interactive public art installation created by mirari and Anne Lagacé as part of the In bocca al lupo project. It’s a giant music box surmounted by a sculpture representing a ballerina. The music box has four cranks. When a crank is activated, the ballerina begins to move, light effects illuminate the installation, and music is projected from speakers. The more cranks are activated simultaneously, the grander the music will be, ranging from intimate music played by a solo celesta to a bursting symphony orchestra tutti. The music was recorded by the Montreal Symphony Orchestra and Dina Gilbert. For more information about the installation, visit: Lucia.
The music from Lucia can also be performed in concert as a suite. The suite consists of three short movements:
I. The Ballerina and the Clockmaker
II. Night Walk
III. Waltz in Light
